Hunting for views in Siena

A city where one moment you are surrounded by soaring medieval palaces, and the next you discover a breathtaking views

Unbeatable Views from the Torre del Mangia

Get ready to catch your breath, because to reach the top of the Torre del Mangia you will have to tackle a climb of over 400 steps inside its medieval structure.
It might seem like a bit of an effort, but don't be discouraged: the fatigue will disappear the exact moment you reach the top. At the end of the climb, you will be rewarded with a truly unique 360-degree view.

Besides taking in all the red roofs of Siena and the rolling Tuscan hills on the horizon, the real spectacle is right beneath you: looking at Piazza del Campo from above, you can finally admire its unmistakable shell shape in all its perfection.

Have your camera ready!

Two unmissable photo spots

Strolling through the streets of the historic center, it's easy to stumble upon breathtaking views.
Here are two photo stops you shouldn't miss:

The magic of sunset in Via di Diacceto
As you walk leisurely, prepare for a surprise: a beautiful and sudden view over the Basilica of San Domenico. It's the ideal spot for your next shot, especially at sunset when the colors make the view truly incredible.

The old city from Via Camporegio
A truly unmissable spot to enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramas of Siena. For the perfect photo, I recommend going early in the morning or in the late afternoon. Be sure to avoid midday, when the harsh overhead sun might spoil the light in your photo.

View from Via di Fontanella

A shot of the Sienese skyline nestled against green surroundings. This is a lesser-known viewpoint over the city, but definitely beautiful, don't you think?
Nearby, you can also take a break in the greenery of Orti dei Tolomei and enjoy more beautiful views!
