Where goldsmithing tradition meets creativity
In Siena, a city of art and history, the goldsmithing tradition is still one of its deepest roots today. Giovanna Giudici is one of the most representative artisans of contemporary Siena, capable of combining traditional goldsmithing with her personal creativity. After learning ancient techniques in the Sienese workshops, she decided to bring to life a unique project: The Galeone, a goldsmith workshop that not only creates jewelry but tells stories of Siena through each creation.
A journey between past and present
Trained at the "Duccio di Buoninsegna" Art Institute and perfected in the workshop of master goldsmith Valerio Passerini, Giovanna Giudici opened her workshop in 1998, transforming a small space in her home into a workshop that has now become the heart of The Galeone. Here, every piece of jewelry is made entirely by hand, combining technical precision with a vision that leaves ample room for experimentation. Every piece that is born in the workshop is a fusion of tradition and innovation.
The strength of a shared vision
The meeting with Federico Biagi, an expert craftsman in Tuscan workshops, gave new life to the project, creating a workshop that combines technical skills with a creative vision without boundaries. Together, they have created jewelry that is much more than accessories: they are unique pieces, designed to tell the story of medieval Siena through forms, symbols, and details that refer to the territory, the Contrade, and the identity of the city.
The Galeone: a workshop that preserves tradition
Every piece of jewelry from The Galeone is a true tribute to Siena. Among precious stones and sought-after materials, each creation tells the story of a place that has made craftsmanship and art a distinctive mark. But the works are not only a celebration of the past: they are also a vision of the future, made with skilled hands and a passion that continues to shine.
An art that has conquered the world
The work of Giovanna Giudici has transcended the borders of Siena, bringing Sienese goldsmithing art to cities like Paris, Madrid, Munich, and Rome. Their works have been exhibited in international exhibitions, helping to showcase the beauty and originality of Sienese craftsmanship. Despite the success, the bond with Siena has always remained at the center of their work, a city that continues to be their source of inspiration.
The Galeone: where craftsmanship becomes experience
Entering the workshop of The Galeone is to live a unique experience. Every gesture, every movement, is full of meaning. Here, work is not just a technique, but a form of art that comes to life in metal, in stones, and in the details that tell a story of Siena. Every piece of jewelry is an authentic fragment of the city, to carry with you or to give as a gift, like a piece of Siena that remains imprinted in the heart.
