A workshop linked to the history of Siena
Ancient Siena was born as a craft laboratory dedicated to the production of artistic ceramics inspired by the history, colors, and symbols of the city, with particular attention to the Contrade and the iconographic heritage of the Palio.
Leonardo has developed a personal style that combines the tradition of Sienese ceramics with a contemporary taste, keeping intact the manual processing methods typical of local craftsmanship.
Ceramics, symbols, and Contrade
His works include decorative plates, heraldic tiles, trays, jugs, centerpieces, tableware, and small decorative items. Each piece is hand-painted with bright colors and motifs related to the medieval history of Siena.
An important part of the production is dedicated to the Contrade of the Palio, represented through coats of arms, symbolic animals, colors, and heraldic motifs, highly appreciated by Sienese people and visitors looking for an authentic souvenir.
The workshop Antica Siena has been carrying on the art of Sienese ceramics since 1979, thanks to a long family tradition now continued by Leonardo Giorgi. A reference point for those seeking authentic objects, made entirely by hand and inspired by the history of the city.
Inside Leonardo Giorgi's workshop
The laboratory is located in the heart of the historic center, in an area rich in history and charm. Entering the workshop means being surrounded by walls covered with colorful plates, decorative objects, and works that tell the story of Siena through shapes and colors.
Leonardo is often present and loves to tell visitors the story of his creations, explaining techniques, materials, and inspirations. The visit thus becomes a direct encounter with local craftsmanship.
An authentic memory of Siena
The ceramics of Ancient Siena stand out for the quality of materials, precision of the stroke, and richness of details, making each piece unique and unrepeatable. They are appreciated as gifts, author souvenirs, or collectible pieces, thanks to their ability to combine aesthetics, tradition, and Sienese identity.
