All public toilets managed by Si.Ge.Ri.Co. are accessible to people with disabilities. Check the map in the dedicated section of the Si.Ge.Ri.Co. S.p.A. website (link: https://sigericospa.it/bagni-pubblici-siena/).

Several volunteer organisations, pharmacies and other private providers offer mobility aids for rent, including wheelchairs and crutches. The Museo Civico and the Santa Maria della Scala Museum Complex provide a number of wheelchairs free of charge for visitors with reduced mobility. If you are interested, we recommend contacting the two museums directly to find out more.

Several museums offer dedicated services for visitors with visual and hearing impairments.

The Santa Maria della Scala Museum Complex, for example, offers a route with tactile panels and, like the Museo Civico, has a multilingual app with a video guide in LIS (Italian Sign Language), allowing visitors with hearing impairments to fully enjoy their visit. The Museo delle Biccherne also offers an inclusive route, with a layout that combines tactile tools, audio content and highly accessible visual aids.

In any case, we recommend contacting the individual museums directly to check the availability of specific activities, services or experiences.

If you park your car outside the city walls, you can reach the historic centre by using one of the car parks connected to the escalators: La Stazione (towards Porta Camollia and the Antiporto), San Francesco (access from Via Baldassarre Peruzzi) or Santa Caterina (access from Via Esterna di Fontebranda). As the escalators are not accessible, a free replacement taxi service is available, limited to the escalator route. The service can be requested by calling (+39) 0577.228799 or via the intercom located at the escalators.
