Almost the entire center within the walls is a Limited Traffic Zone, divided into sub-zones (ZTL, Zone A, Historical Zone Y) with different rules and time slots, monitored by electronic gates. Some areas are exclusively pedestrian.

You can request a permit to access the ZTL online from the “ZTL Access” section of the Municipality of Siena's website (link: https://www.comune.siena.it/categorie-dei-servizi/mobilita-e-trasporti) or through the Si.Ge.Ri.Co. S.p.A website (https://sigericospa.it/ztl-e-aru/). Alternatively, it can be requested in person at the Punto Unico in Via di Fontebranda, 77 or at the counter in Viale Toselli 8/10. In the historic Zone Y, access is only by taxi and only for people with mobility difficulties.

In Siena, there are several car rental agencies for cars, scooters, vespas, and e-bikes, as well as chauffeur services. You can find all the contacts with a quick online search.

It depends on the rental company's policies: generally, it is allowed with a carrier and with the obligation to return the vehicle clean, sometimes with an additional fee. We recommend that you contact the agency directly.

The parking for tourist buses is managed by Si.Ge.Ri.Co. and takes place in the parking lot "Il Fagiolone". The docking areas are distributed around the ZTL, with a maximum stop of 15 minutes and authorization displayed on the windshield issued after payment of the fee at the check point. The permit can be booked and paid for online at sigericospa.it, at least one day in advance. For more information, visit the manager's website (https://sigericospa.it/prenotazioni-on-line/), send an email to info.busturistici@sigericospa.it, or call the number (+39) 0577.228741.

Yes. The public service is “SiPedala”, a municipal bike sharing service with pedal-assisted bicycles: you pick up the bike at one station and can return it at another, using the Weelo app, which can be downloaded for free from the Play Store or the App Store. More information is available on the City of Siena's website (https://www.comune.siena.it/servizi/bike-sharing-sipedala)

Bicycles must be used exclusively within the municipal territory on paved roads and must be returned to a bike station in the circuit.

There are several bike racks distributed throughout the city. You can find them, for example, in Piazza del Mercato, Piazza Gramsci, Piazza San Domenico, Piazza Matteotti, and at the entrance of the Fortezza Medicea.
